ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY?
(All four criteria must be met)
- A Patient must weigh
a minimum of 100 pounds over their ideal body weight, or two times
their ideal body weight. The ideal body weight is determined by standards
of height and weight established by Metropolitan Life Insurance scales
of 1982 (or later)
- A history of
morbid obesity of more than three (3) years duration.
- Failure to lose
weight despite documented participation in at least one formalized
weight control program.
- There must be
a medical condition directly caused by, or made worse by the extra
weight, such as:
